What would Ontario be like without clean water?

What if the clean air we breathe wasn’t free?

What if urban sprawl went unchecked, agricultural lands were transformed into sprawling homes, and endangered species’ habitats were mindlessly destroyed?

What if we could no longer grow our own food?

What if our 1.8 million acres of protected farmland and ecosystems didn’t exist?

Ontario’s Greenbelt is an area of permanently protected farmland, vibrant communities, forests, wetlands, and watersheds, in Ontario’s Greater Golden Horseshoe. In March 2011 the Foundation is hosting an International Greenbelts Conference, Greenbelts: Local Solutions for Global Challenges, to discuss some of the complex issues surrounding greenbelts.Winners of the competition will have their videos featured at the International Conference.
